Neutrals Are The New Black!

Ok, so I've always been a fan of creme, gray and different shades of brown for clothing and shoes; especially on men and women with darker skin tones. But after my shopping expedition this weekend on a search for a couple of items to wear to a party (My Philly folks...take a trip out to Menlo Park Mall in NJ when you get the chance!), my love for neutrals has been validated! Neutrals work so well as a basis for any outfit because they are classic in any fabric (I especially love them in linen, cotton, and wool) and work well with a pop color to make an outfit interesting. I love these dresses from Banana Republic ($97.00 on www.Bananarepublic.com)and the Steve Madden website

Pair with Turquoise, Cobalt Blue or Red heels and accessories, and you have a perfect outfit for a night out with the girls!
(<3 the color & shape of this bag...matching shoes would complete the outfit!)

And fellas, I haven't forgotten about you! Wearing neutrals can help you to look polished and stylish at the same time...and also help you catch the eye of that special young lady! This linen plaid shirt and chino combination from Banana Republic (this outfit is less than $100!)

while simple can be worn casually as shown above, or with a bold tie to make a statement. Both burgendy and green ties would go well with this combo:

So with that said ladies and gents, I'm off to put my neutrals together for work tomorrow! Happy Shopping ; )

Shoes, Shoes and more Shoes!

Spring equals new shoe time for me and my closet (and wallet), and the Spring collections that many of my favorite designers are releasing just puts me in shoe heaven (Check out the new Steve Madden releases...to die for!). Along with the usual mall browsing that I do for new shoes, my cousin has introduced me to Shoedazzle.com which is described on the website as "The World's Premier Shoe Society" founded by the one and only Kim Kardashian. The basic idea of Shoedazzle is this; you take a fashion quiz so that the stylists on Shoedazzle can determine what style of shoes may interest you. Once you have completed that step, you sign up for a memebership which is $39.95 a month and the shoe stylists send you a selection of 6 or so shoes per month that you can choose from. Once you see the shoe selection, you choose one for them to ship to you (for FREE)and there you have it, hassle free shoe shopping from your living room!

Now the first set of shoes that the wonderful Shoedazzle stylists sent me kind of sucked (not really my style, more flats than heels and I am soooo a heels kind of gyal) but luckily, you are able to inform the stylists if you do not like the shoe selection (and why) and they send you another 6 shoes to choose from for free. I went through the process about twice before I received a really good shoe selection, and the stylists are really patient with you until they get your shoe sense correct. Here's the other great thing about Shoedazzle, if there is more than one pair of shoes that you like for the month, you can order as many as you want, all for the wonderful price of $39.95 which is a blessing when you're running short on cash. There is obviously more detail on the website and a Frequently Asked Questions section for more information on how everything works, but this site is an absolute must for all of my shoe lovers out there! Above are a couple of the cute shoes that Shoedazzle has selected for me...sooo excited to see next month's picks!

Happy Shoe Shopping Fashionistas!
